Open Mic
Step Into the World of Storytelling at the Storytelling Open Mic!
Formerly known as “Story Swap,” this free event has a fresh name but keeps the same inviting atmosphere – whether you join us in person or online.
The Storytelling Open Mic is the perfect space for newcomers to experience storytelling in a warm, supportive setting, and for seasoned tellers to try out new material. Listeners are always welcome. Expect to hear a rich mix of folk tales, historical narratives, fractured fairy tales, true personal stories, recitations, ballads, and original works – from the humorous to the heartfelt.
Two Ways to Join
Ottawa StoryTellers hosts this free event twice each month – once in person and once online. In either format, participants can choose to simply enjoy the stories or share one of their own, lasting between 5 and 10 minutes.
