Registration for this workshop is limited to 8 participants per day. Registration is required in advance. Payment is by cheque. DESCRIPTION: Do you have a story you want to tell? Is it a personal tale you want to share, an important historical event people should hear, a fairy tale you believe in, or a magical tale you know will amaze? This two-day workshop will offer advice, tips, coaching, and the chance to work on your story in animitate and supportive environment. You may take one day, or both. Come prepared to get up and tell!
Instructor’s Bio: Marie Bilodeau is an Ottawa-based author and storyteller. Her space opera Destiny trilogy was a two-time finalist for the Aurora Awards (Canadian Science Fiction & Fantasy Association) and won the bronze medal in the Foreword Book Awards. Her latest serialized fairy apocalypse book, Nigh, was an international bestseller. As a storytellers, Marie has told stories across Canada in theatres, tea shops, at festivals and under disco balls. She’s won story slams with personal stories, has participated in epic tellings at the National Arts Centre, and has adapted classical material. Marie is co-host of Planet X Podcase with Jay Odjick and Ken Bonnie, co-chair of Ottawa ChiSeries with Nicole Lavigne and Matt Moore, and is a regular blogger at Black Gate Magazine. Marie Bilodeau recently performed The Wizard & The Dragon with Nicole Lavigne at the 4th Stage of the National Arts Centre in February of 2016.
