Marta Singh

Argentinean by birth and Ottawa StoryTeller by choice, Marta tells stories in English, in Spanish, and in her own interplay of both.

Where does she tell?

In theatres, festivals, schools, universities, churches, hospitals. At work, AGMs, retreats, conferences. At weddings, birthdays, Chrismas parties. At your own very living room! She tells everywhere Story is invited and welcome.

What does she tell?

Folktales, fairytales and wondertales from everywhere. Tales and legends from Argentina’s Andean Northwest. Children’s literature gems, with the authors’ and publishers’ blessing. Personal stories.

Workshops?

Marta creates and facilitates storytelling workshops that address the WHY and HOW-TO communicate through story, and story-based workshops that, in exploring organizational and social issues, examine the stories that we – as individuals, communities, countries, organizations – are helping tell with our voice.

How else is her story at work?

The City of Ottawa has just awarded her a grant to craft powerful personal material into a one-woman performance. And she has embraced the invitation to spend this winter telling and gathering stories, and facilitating workshops in Argentina. She leaves on December 12th 2009 and returns to Canada on March 20th 2010.
