Hire A Teller

If you want to know who the tellers are, the Ottawa StoryTellers maintains a List of Tellers page. An email address and a description is provided for each teller.

Members of Ottawa StoryTellers are available to tell stories in the community. These tellers are experienced performers with a wide repertoire of tales.

Professional fees for each hour (or part of an hour) vary depending upon:

• Experience of tellers
• Stories required (will these stories come from the teller's own repertoire, or will the teller be required to spend hours learning a new story)

Fees range from $175/ hour to $350/ hour.
Some of our tellers may choose to negotiate alternate payment levels.

You should provide the following information:

• Name of individual or group hiring the teller
• Date and time of event
• Location
• Nature of event
    (purpose; other performer(s) involved if any; general environment)
• Specific requirements
    (special occasion, theme)
• Expected audience
    (numbers, and age range of any children who will be involved)
• Performance space
    (living room, classroom, outdoor patio, auditorium etc.)
• Microphone needed? Provided?
• Payment envisioned

Your request will be circulated among the potential tellers, and one of them will contact you. If no teller is available for your request, you will be informed of this promptly.
