Dean Verger

Coming from theatre experience, having acted in musicals, children’s theatre, and community theatre, in 1982 Dean co-founded the Ottawa Storytellers Workshop for Children, a group that focused on the writing of original stories for children.
Dean has told original stories based in Ottawa, be they ghost stories or relationships, on television and radio, in schools and on stages, here in Ottawa, and across Canada.

Imagine coming across a grizzly bear while in the Rockies, or being a newcomer in a Newfoundland outport in 1912, or sailing on the high seas on a whaling vessel. Dean tells love stories, stories of adventure, true stories, and whimsy. His latest project is a one hour storytelling adaptation of Herman Melville’s “Moby Dick”.
